My mother used to say to me “Pretty is as pretty does.” Of course that made no sense to me as a child. And now that I’m an adult I know it’s not true. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, and doing pretty things does not make one pretty. Fixing oneself up? Now that’s another story. That makes a difference. Take Helen Mirren for an example. At age 69 she is a very pretty lady. Read the following:

Today’s woman has to feel comfortable in her own skin. I love myself, and I have made a decision to look my best when I leave home. Knowing that you’re beautiful and accepting yourself as beautiful is not a false start. It is being. Being who you are just as you are. But make-up never hurts!
