Being real. How can anyone not be real? Easily! If I pretend that I am okay when I am offended by something or someone then I am not being real…with myself. I am learning each day that I owe allegiance to myself to be just exactly who I am, whether other people like it or not. When I allow myself the freedom to let my true being shine through all the mess that living can sometimes create, then I am being real. When I am real I can accept the reality that every person that I come into contact has the right to be themselves and I need not judge them. Oprah Winfrey is quoted as saying ” I had no idea that being your authentic self could make me as rich as I’ve become. If I had I’d have done it a lot earlier.”
Being my authentic self will allow my spirit to blossom, and a prospering spirit is wealth in and of itself. If I had known this truth always I would have kept it real a lot earlier in my life as well. Keeping it real, being authentic, and refusing to fake it is not a false start. It is the way to happiness.
